xc Sunday Spring Fling starts season at I-35

MASON CITY, Iowa – The second of two weekend Spring Fling specials in north central Iowa does double duty as the 2012 season opener at I-35 Speedway.

Four IMCA divisions take to the track Sunday, April 8 at Mason City. Headlining the lidlifter are IMCA Modifieds in a $1,000 to win Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event.

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars race for $750 to win, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks both for top prizes of $500.

All applicable points, including IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national, regional, Allstar Performance state and local track points, will be awarded.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, with racing to follow 6 p.m. hot laps.

There is no entry fee. Spectator admission is $12 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-12, with five and under free. Pit passes are $25.
