Feb.26.2012
BROOMFIELD, Colo. – Two tours for IMCA Modifieds and two new tours for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars make up an action-packed schedule for drivers following the 2012 Blood, Sweat and Tears Series.
Nine BST West Series dates for Modifieds and eight for Stock Cars are on the slate at tracks in Colorado and Kansas. Both divisions share eight Kansas and Oklahoma dates in the BST South.
Modified events with 30 or more entries will pay $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start, and will be 2012 or 2013 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying races.
“Having two tours for the Modifieds will minimize travel and maximize car counts,” noted BST Director Joe Bellm. “Our schedule is racer-friendly, consisting of multiple day shows a couple times a month, one track, two shows.”
Stock Cars start their BST West party on Friday, May 4 at Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke, Colo. Modifieds open with Friday and Saturday, May 11-12 races at Lamar, Colo., Speedway.
Both divisions see action Wednesday, July 4 and Friday, Aug. 10 at Phillips County; Friday and Saturday, Aug. 3-4 at Thomas County Speedway in Colby, Kan.; Saturday, Aug. 11 at I-76 Speedway in Fort Morgan, Colo.; and Friday and Saturday, Sept. 28-29 at Sherman County Speedway in Goodland, Kan.
The Great American Dirt Track at Jetmore, Kan., hosts BST South Modifieds and Stock Cars on Friday and Saturday, June 8-9.
That tour is next at Dodge City, Kan., Raceway Park on Friday, July 27 and at Beaver County Raceway in Beaver, Okla., on Saturday, July 28. A tripleheader follows Sunday through Tuesday, July 29-31 at Five State Free Fairgrounds in Liberal, Kan.
Winding up the South schedule is the Saturday, Aug. 25 show at Dodge City.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national, regional, Allstar Performance state and special series points will be given at all BST races.
National and regional bonus points will be given to champions of Modified and Stock Car BST tours; should any driver win multiple titles, they’ll receive the higher number of bonus points from one of the series.
Complementing on-track series action throughout the BST slate will be mixed martial arts events, at dates to be announced.
“From a website and new staff, we’re going to do everything possible to take the BST to a new level,” Bellm promised.
