CLERMONT, Ind. (June 19) – It was a battle of the two orange team cars. It also was a battle of the brothers.
The battle between Chris and Scott Tomasik was colossal for the first 20 of the 30-lap ARA Modified feature Saturday evening at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis.
Then Chris had something happen he surely didn’t expect. Scott fell off the pace and Scott cruised home for the victory in front of a good crowd.
The handle went away on Scott’s machine but he held off a final threat by Damon Breedlove for second. Brett Andrew withstood several challenges from Rodney Cropper for fourth.
Dan Frazier paced the first two laps before Chris Tomasik took the point. Scott slipped by right before a Lap 7 restart and led to that fateful 20th circuit.
Rick Tackman, Jr. got by Evan Roberts about midway in the 30-lap Cline Grain Late Model feature and went on to win over Roberts, Tim Salyers, Matt Erich and Josh Cave. Salyers’ third place helped him celebrate his 50th birthday.
Steve Blair made it three for three in the JobCentral Pro Trucks taking another 30-lapper. Ric Pfeifer and Roberts, doing double duty, came next.Dan Jordan and Tom Miller rounded out the Top 5.
ARA is next in action July 10 at O’Reilly Raceway Park featuring the Pro Trucks and Late Models.
ARA action is made possible by JobCentral, Hoosier Tire, Cline Grain, Racing Electronics, Impact Racing, Hinchman Uniforms, Official Track Race Photos, Alexandria's Gift Baskets, ARP Bodies, Alpha Marketing Solutions, Voris Construction, Wright Motor Company, O'Reilly Raceway Park, The Racers Resource and Yardarm Chassis.
