BRIDGEPORT, NJ - With a chance at the $6500 check, more Big Block Modified drivers have entered the Jam in Jersey race at Bridgeport Speedway scheduled for Tuesday, July 19. Ryan Watt, Ron Roberts, Billy Pauch, Sr., Stan Frankenfield, Neal Williams, Rob Nixon, Tommy Scheetz and Jesse Hill are among the latest Big Block Modified entrants. These latest drivers join the likes of Mike Franz, Gary Hager, Matt Harrell, Duane Howard, Neil Huber, Chad James, Rick Laubach , Billy Pauch, Jr. and Richie Pratt, Jr.

At the Jam in Jersey race, two thrilling 25-lap Big Block features will take place including the postponed $3000 to win George Wingate Classic main event from June 16. The top four non-qualified finishers in the first 25-lap Big Block race will be added to the field for the George Wingate Classic contest. If a driver can win both Big Block Modified events on this night and is pre-entered, he will receive $6500 that includes a $1000 bonus for winning both Big Block Modified features. To be eligible for the extra money, Big Block Modified drivers simply need to contact the promotions department at mike@bpspeedway.com or 302-875-4196 to pre-enter the race for free by Sunday, July 17.

Also, the Bridgeport Modifieds will be on the docket with qualifying events and a 25-lap feature. The winner of the Bridgeport Modified feature event will take home $1,200 if the number of entries in the Bridgeport Modified class exceeds thirty. If the car count in the Bridgeport Modified class is thirty or under, the victor will receive $1,000. The $2500 to win Bridgeport Modified feature postponed on June 16 will be held on Thursday, August 18 as part of the mid-week special show to include the Super Late Models.

For this special event, any track stamped American Racer tires that conform to the current Bridgeport Speedway permitted compounds are eligible to be used. Unaltered GM 602 engines, 604 engines with a Bridgeport Speedway supplied restrictor plate and 347JR Ford motors with a Bridgeport Speedway supplied restrictor plate will be allowed to compete in the Bridgeport Modified race. A racer can compete in both divisions by registering a second car for $150. Additional rules for this race will be available at the track’s official website located at www.bpspeedway.com.

On Tuesday, July 19, the pit gates open at 4:30 PM and fans can begin to enter the grandstand area at 5:30 PM. Qualifying events are slated to begin at 7:30 PM. General admission tickets are $20 for adults. Kids 12 and under are admitted for free. Pit admission for this event will be $35. A rain date of Wednesday, July 20 has been scheduled for this race.
