| xc | MSD expands IMCA contingency award program to include three additional divisions and one special series
Bill Martin Jun.27.2011 EL PASO, Texas – Three more divisions and a special series have been added to MSD Ignition’s contingency award program for the 2011 IMCA race season. Top three eligible drivers in national point standings for Late Models and in the Deery Brothers Summer Series standings receive a digital 6AL ignition control box, spark plug wire set and Blaster 2 coil, and universal plug wire set, respectively. An 8728 Soft Touch rev control goes to the top eligible driver in both national Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Chassis Southern SportMod points, with universal spark plug wire sets going to the second and third-place drivers. The El Paso, Texas, manufacturer and distributor also continues awards in the IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car divisions. Top eligible drivers in each Modified region will receive 6AL ignition control boxes; and Blaster 2 coils; the runner-up gets a control box, third and fourth place drivers get universal spark plug wire sets and the fifth place driver receives a Blaster 2 coil. Top drivers in the Stock Car regions get Ultimate HEI kits and a universal spark plug wire set. Runnersup get a HEI module and the third place finishers receive spark plug wire sets. Drivers in all five divisions must compete with MSD Ignition products, display two MSD decals on their race car and return a sign-up form to the IMCA home office by Aug. 1. Awards will be sent directly from MSD after point standings become official this fall.
