Five Mile Point hosts July 2 IMCA World Products Empire State Series show

KIRKWOOD, N.Y. – IMCA Modifieds following the World Products Empire State Series are on the special pre-holiday program Monday, July 2 at Five Mile Point Speedway.
The fourth event of the 2012 series pays $400 to win and a minimum of $75 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Eastern Region and Allstar Performance State, as well as special series points will be awarded.
Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:15 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:05 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors 62 and over, $5 for teenagers and free for kids 12 and under. Pit passes are $28 with a license or $33 without; entry fee is $20.
Rescheduled from April because of inclement weather, the Monday race will be the 10th Empire State Series event held at Kirkwood dating back to 2005.
Scott Bennett, Dale Caswell and Kevan Cook have each won two series features at Five Mile Point. George Catanzano, Gary Dence and Gary Roberts own one win apiece there.
Five Mile Point also hosts the 2012 series finale on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Defending series champion and current point leader Eddie Sites is one of the Pennsylvania drivers with Empire State wins to their credit through the first three events of the season.
Dale Schweikart, now second in the point race, and Jim Yoder have also found victory lane thus far.
