xc Pro-Late Spring Sizzler 25 and Wacky Wheels Figure Eight Mania Highlight NAPA Auto Parts Action at PPMS

PITTSBURGH, PA -  Mother Nature's cooperation this Saturday, May 12th, will find race fans at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway enjoying an exciting night of racing action showcasing the Brougher's Machine Shop FASTRAK/Pro-Late Models in the Spring Sizzler 25. In addition, the first Olsen Industries Wacky Wheels Figure Eight Mania event will take place at intermission. The Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic DIRTcar Super Late Models, Sunoco Race Fuels DIRTCar Late Model Sportsman, Miley BP Car Wash DIRTcar Hobby Stocks and Imperial Heights Garage DIRTcar Young Guns will round out the evening's racing action, which is being sponsored by the Pittsburgh area NAPA Auto Parts stores.   
 
"This Saturday's event is the first of seven specials that are scheduled for the Pro-Late Model Division in 2012," commented Speedway Owner, Matt Miley. "Last week's feature event saw Andrew Satterlee score his first ever PPMS victory with a fourth turn pass of Tom Schirnhofer and this type of action is what the race fans want. We feel that our weekly Pro-Late competitors are some of the best in the tri-state area and we are looking forward to them battling any 'invaders' who may join us for the Pro-Late Sizzler events."
 
Mike Pegher, Jr., the 2011 FASTRAK Late Model Grand National Champion, scored the win on opening night as he defeated veteran Chad Ruhlman while John Garvin, Jr. claimed the feature victory on April 30th. Other favorites expected to be in action this weekend include the 2011 PPMS Pro-Late Champion Colton Flinner, the ever improving Ron Hall, Kyle and Laura Lukon, and Josh Holtgraver.
 
 
  
Race fans who present $25.00 of qualifying NAPA Auto Parts receipts will receive Free Grandstand Admission courtesy of the Pittsburgh area NAPA Auto Parts Stores at this Saturday's event. It is also the first action of the season for the Olsen Industries sponsored Wacky Wheels Figure Eight Mania action. Hobby Stock competitor Joe Podolinsky is the defending Wacky Wheels Champion and is looking forward to defending his crown when the action begins this weekend. The winner of the Wacky Wheels event will receive $150.00 for his or her efforts and all competitors will receive a minimum of $25.00. The Pit and Grandstand Admission Gates for all Saturday events open at 5:00PM with the first green flag waving promptly at 7:00PM.
 
 In 2012, the management of Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway will utilize a Sunday evening rain date in the event Mother Nature fails to cooperate with the Saturday night racing action. Times for the Sunday rain dates are as follows: Pit and Grandstand Admission Gates open at 4:00PM, Hot Laps at 5:00PM and Racing at 6:00PM.
  
Adult Grandstand Admission for this Saturday is $13.00. Seniors, Ages 60 and Over, are admitted for $12.00 with Juniors, Ages 13 to 16, priced at $9.00. Admission for Children aged Six through 12 is $5.00 and Children Under Age Six will be admitted Free. In addition, all children aged Six through 12 will receive a free gift when they present their admission ticket at the PPMS Gift Shop, which now features Apparel by Denise. Pit Admission for this week's racing is $30.00.
Fans are also invited to bring their own refreshments however; glass bottles and alcoholic beverages are not permitted.  In addition, coolers are limited to 14 inches or smaller in size.  And don't forget that the Checkered Flag Food Court has a great variety of amusement park munchies like monster chicken wings, juicy hamburgers and hot dogs, grilled chicken sandwiches and cotton candy at "fan friendly prices."
